Tomodon is a monotypic genus of colubrid snakes,which includes the species Tomodon dorsatus , the pampas snake, and is endemic to South America.

The genus was named after the Greek “tomos” = to cut, and “odon” or “odous” = tooth), hence the gender is masculine (fide Trevine et al. 2022).
